2022 Review here, avoid this school at all cost. I hope you are reading this before you get into this school or even as a freshman so you wouldn’t fall into the same pit of hell I am in. This school used to be good at some point before finally gaining the ability to get federal loans. Once they did, they took on more & more students with the goal of failing them because they lack enough space for rotation or residency. The exams are extremely difficult, only the smartest makes it through Med 1, 2, 3, 4 without ever failing . If you are part of that group, don’t worry, this school has a way to milk you out of money, and as a added bonus prevent you from getting through to clinical rotations. They give a ridiculously difficult test for comps which about 90% of the very smart students who passed Med 1 through 4 end up failing. The MED 4 are now told to go to Med 5 to milk them of more money. Over there you are charged 20,000+ for kaplan to come and train you. Kaplan that trains the students for Step 1, tests the students afterwards with 90% passing showing they are confident 90% of the students will pass step 1. But the school can’t have that, they don’t have enough space for rotations, so they must prevent you taking the step 1. So they have you take the COMPS, a ridiculous test that ensures 90% of the students will fail, thereby ensuring they are able to meet their clinical rotation number. It is complete madness, the kaplan test taken, shows 90% of these kids passing step 1 but AUA will not let you pass the Comps because they simply do not have the space. This is something I wish I knew before going to this school. My advise to anyone, look at the attrition rate of the Caribbean schools, if it’s too high just avoid them, because they are probably doing the same thing. For current students who have failed any Med and are repeating, get out of this school, they are just milking you because they know Comps will get you. To students that have passed Med 1 through 4, start looking to transfer, if you transfer by med 4 you can take the step 1 and start rotations on time. Smart people in my set did it while i was slaving away in Med 5. These students that transferred out after Med 4 fiasco are doing rotations now while I am looking at a failed Comps in Med 5. To be fair all Caribbean medical schools play the Comps game but I assure you, none are even close to AUA, they are simply the worst. It might be due to the owners, I don’t know but it is so transparent what they are doing, it should be illegal. I am truly hoping enough people report them to the federal government. You know the questions on Comps are the discarded questions Step 1 doesn’t use. To show you how evil this school, they are working hard to make sure you don’t succeed. I wish I knew all this information when I started two 2 & a half years ago
